Capturing a research
Collaborating with Vlisco during an internship, Simone Post was impressed with its beautiful products, but she also noticed the big amount of waste materials. She therefore initiated an extensive material research into the leftovers and misprints of the Dutch textile manufacturer, known for its bold and vibrant wax fabrics. This research resulted into the production of the Vlisco Recycled Carpets, on which Simone graduated cum laude from the Design Academy Eindhoven.
From the desire to capture her research, the idea arose to make a book. With the book, she also aimed to inspire other companies to develop a different view on their leftover materials and to show the endless possibilities there are, once one starts experimenting with (leftover) materials. Each edition of ‘Post Vlisco’ is bound in a unique piece of Vlisco misprint.
